TRDT Butterflies

So, it's January 30th already. Time sure is flying by. And speaking of flying todays TRDT project is all about the butterflies. We love butterflies right? I know I do. The pretty delicate ones that fly around all the way to the ones that flit in your tummy right before your love kisses you. As you know I am working in my mini black smash, which is perfect size for those instangram photos. This is my daughter Kiara, and this was her first time putting on her own make up for school. (she is now allowed to wear it that she is in 6th grade). I used the Tsunami Rose New Beginnings Butterfly lined journal paper, available here http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose/artwork?artworkId=1049572 , inked up the edges with some black ink, cut out the butterfly with my cuttlebug and then embossed it, using 10 second studio black tin and sanded it so some silver showed through, some say it with crystals bling, and a love charm. Just a disclaimer i am not responsible for any injuries sustained if you attempt my projects lol. The tin can have very sharp edges so please use caution and handle carefully.

Besties Challenge #2

so i am at it again doing another challenge. and i  decided to make a card. i will give this to my bestie tomorrow when i go have coffee with her. even tho she lives right across the street from me we hardly see each other because of kids and life and everything else that gets in the way. but we always make time for a coffee get together once a month.

TRDT #3 Color Inspiration

oooooooooooooo lLadies have I got something for you. As you know I am using my mini black smash for my design team projects and well my next project was a color inspiration project using the colors in the Tsunami Rose "New Beginnings" journal pack,http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose/artwork?artworkId=1049572 available at the link. I just love these papers. So anyway, I did up my cover of my smashbook and it turned out awesome in my opinion. I am not usually one to toot my own horn but these papers make it hard not too. So for what I got going on here is I used the Tsunami Rose New Beginings papers, Ten Second Studio tin sheet in pink, a piece of very fine sand paper, Prima say it in pearls green, a few scrabble tiles, 4 colors of ribbon~pink green purple and grey, and the cricut cart Old West, a piece of DCWV green cardstock and a piece of  Tim Holtz cardstock in maroon, and my cuttlebug to cut out and emboss the butterfly.

So there it is, my cover. I am going to tell you I don't know if 10 second studio sells the tin sheets anymore. I bought them years ago, but maybe if you scrounge around on ebay or etsy you may be able to find them.

TRDT Post #2

well i am back again with my second Tsunami Rose Design Team Project. This project was to alter a box. so i did. it took me all of about 10 minutes to make this box. it was an Earth Day gift to my daughter Khloe last year from Chrysler. Yes the car company. So I wanted to make it pretty but still keep it bio-degradable. Did you know that most inkjet printer inks are made from soy? so yes even when printing out a Tsunami Rose digital paper, it's eco-friendly. So no buttons, or metals, or plastics on my project but still cute. My project consists of a box, Tsunami Rose "NEW BEGININGS" papers, available here: http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose/artwork?artworkId=1049572 a paper trimmer and an atg, and a bit of washi tape. Cant get any simpler than that.

Tsunami Rose Design Team #1

So here it is my peeps, My first ever Design Team Blog post. I swear I am so excited my hands are shaking and i am about to pee myself. Thank you so much for coming to check my stuff out. My name is Dawn. I am a stay-at-home mom. my youngest is 9 so i am getting in a lot more craft time these days. i have been crafting all my life but more regularly these past 5 years.
